BACKGROUND

After surgery, patients are treated with radiation therapies, chemotherapy, and even hormonal therapy. Some patients experience all three combined. Radiation therapy comes with a lot of side effects. Hormonal therapy often involves the release of synthetic progesterone to deter cancer cell growth.

The main advantage of alternative treatment is the minimal side effects patients receive as opposed to a high amount of side effects from conventional treatment. Alternative treatments seek to improve immune function so that the body is capable of fighting the cancer by itself. Heat therapy creates an environment in the body where the cancer cells cannot grow. Along with heat therapy, a diet rich in vitamins is necessary to fight off the cancer. Additionally, yoga, meditation, and other exercises are recommended by the holistic practitioner which aids in the mind-body balancing during a stressful time.
